Regular Season Round 29: Spars - Plunges 84-92 OT

LatvianSpars (#42) forced the game against Lithuanian Plunges (#15) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 84-92 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spars. Plunges trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 21-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-2. Plunges forced 20 Spars turnovers and outrebounded them 47-28 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Gabrielius Peciulis (190-2008) nailed a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Gytis Vaicekauskas accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Klavs Cernuho came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Jekabs Miluzs added 21 points respectively for Spars in the defeat. Five Spars players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Plunges went down to twenty ninth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending Latvian champion Spars dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 11 other teams.
